Check the status bar at the bottom of the screen. If Outlook is performing some operation on hundreds or thousands of messages at once, it might appear to be stuck. Give Outlook a few minutes to finish the process and it should start to work again. If Outlook isn't working on a large or long process, move on to the next step.

  • Troubleshooting outlook synchronization problems could be quite complicated task because there are a lot of “Factors” that can cause this problem. In this article, we will learn about the future of outlook cache mode, review the cause for Outlook synchronization problems and the method that we can use for solving this problem.
  • Stuck message. When you have a message stuck in the Outbox, Outlook could end up trying to send that message until it succeeds. When it is truly stuck (for instance because it is too big), this of course will never work. In most cases you can see the message and you can use these techniques to remove it.

I closed and reopened Outlook which resulted in the synchronization inbox message to no longer appear.Do you mean the original issue has been fixed after restarting Outlook?Generally, if you are not encountering any send/receive issue, the synchronization error can be simply ignored. If you are concerned about the error, you can try root your IMAP mailbox and see the result. To do this, please follow:1. Go to File Account Settings Account Settings.2. Double click your IMAP account to open the Change Account wizard.3.

Click More Settings Advanced tab, type Inbox in 'Root folder path' and click OK.4. Follow the Change Account wizard and finish the process.Hope this helps.Regards,Steve FanPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they helped. If you have feedback for TechNet Subscriber Support, contact. I closed and reopened Outlook which resulted in the synchronization inbox message to no longer appear.' Do you mean the original issue has been fixed after restarting Outlook?' Let me clarify what I did. First I closed and reopened Outlook hoping that would solve the issue. Secondly I searched for a solution but ended up making my post here.

Thirdly, I unsubscribed/resubscribed the inbox as you suggested. Finally, after that did not seem to work, I closed and reopened Outlook again. These action resulted in the 'Synchronizing Inbox' to not appear continuously. However, I still receive sync errors every time Outlook sends/receives.I tried your suggestion above and now matters are worse.

Synchronizing Inbox Outlook 365 Stuck

Client has windows 8.1 and installed Outlook 2013, copied over profiles, all working correctly for 4 days. Then this morning his PC stopped receiving new emails. Although the iphone and his old PC running Outlook 2003 still continue to receive ok.I have done a Scan PST, it corrected few errors but not fixed.I created new profile on PC and started fresh outlook with IMAP settings, still no sync.Updated everything I can think of through windows/microsoft update.Turned off ESET.Interesting I sent a test email, which he got on his phone, yet I received a Mailbox full time out Mailer Daemon message.Any ideas?
